Crawling is referred to the method where Google tries to visit webpages with the help of a search engine bot. A search engine bot crawls the webpages, finds all other public pages and indexes the content. However, crawl errors occur when Google attempts to reach a page, but fails. Crawl errors are divided into two sections- site errors and URL errors which are elaborated below.
Site errors These are the crawl errors which prevent bots from accessing a website. The most common reasons are: DNS errors This happens when Google fails to interact with a server. For instance, if it is down, your website cannot be visited, which can be solved quickly. Google will visit the website later and crawl anyway.
